It has been said that the simplest solution is usually the best. As inherently creative beings living in a universe of infinite possibility, we may tend to over-think and get overwhelmed by all the options we have or get stuck in seeing things only one way. Today, Rev. Kit Holmes offers some handy spiritual tools to help us get and stay focused on what really matters.

Divine Order is neither predestination or imposition. It simply is the organizing principle of everything. Our job is to cooperate with and have faith in Divine Order. Thankfully, we are not confined by the trappings of human existence alone! We have the capability to “go with the flow,” keeping our minds and hearts attuned to God!

“Your Lifelong Compass of Joy” as each of us prepare to bloom into our divine potential, we can ask ourselves “What kind of a flower will I be? The answer is always “Joy” which is our birthright. The Light of Truth” In this second Sunday of Lent, we remember that renewed commitment to our spiritual growth can sometimes result in uncomfortable feelings or unexpected events. This “chemicalization” or “second force” is not necessarily a sign that we are headed in the wrong direction. Rather, it can point us toward a greater trust in the Truth we follow, the light that guides our way. Light strengthens and sustains us as we move forward!

This is the first Sunday in Lent. Hopefully your ideas and inspirations about how you want to mark this season have already begun. As the Daily Word for Ash Wednesday says, “As I embark upon my Lenten journey, I am mindful that I’m not trying to become something I’m not. Rather, I am freeing myself to better embody all that I truly am.”

How taking a deep dive in your spiritual faith can bring peace and lead you out of the shallow waters of preconceived limitations

“Ubuntu” is a South African term meaning humanity and is best expressed in the saying " I am because you are". Nelson Mandela often spoke about this  philosophy and recognized that we are all bound together in ways that are invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity that we achieve by sharing with others and caring for those around us.

We think of “dominion” as implying “domination.” To the contrary, dominion is not asserting our will over another. Rather, it is taking full responsibility over our own thoughts, words, and actions. As long as we are doing this, we can let others live as they will. This holds significant weight for us---it lends dignity to our lives, connects us with our highest intention and purpose, and it keeps us out of drama with others.
