To build on last week’s talk on Gratitude and how we define God, this week let’s explore the expression of our Divine Purpose and how we choose to be the embodiment of the God-essence. Are you always in touch with your purpose and passion? Do you have a little fear about letting the real You come out to play in all its magnificence? Let’s draw courage from each other!

A consistent practice of finding things for which we are grateful opens the way for a richer life experience. Our attitude becomes more generous, and life’s burdens become lighter. And if we want to experience God’s abundance, gratitude is the starting point—-not just the afterthought.

In Unity, we teach that there is “only One Power and One Presence, active in the Universe and in our lives.” One “source” of all creative power, and all energetic presence. The “One Source” of all substance, ideas, truth, life, and most importantly, love. While there is "one Source" for all Love, there are an infinite number of seemingly different expressions of love in the world. Yet, as A Course In Miracles teaches, all acts of love are maximal, they are not a matter of degree. All love is the same "One Love," no matter how it may appear.  With Rick Busby, LUT

Love is one of the most powerful spiritual tools we have. It is so much more than a sentimental emotion---it is an existing gift that deserves to be nurtured and shared. When distorted, love becomes a selfish and self- defeating misuse of the gift. As Brené Brown says, “We need more real love. Gritty, dangerous, wild-eyed, justice-seeking love.” Let’s explore the many faces of love and how to express it.

In 1886, Myrtle Fillmore’s life was forever changed upon hearing the words, “I am a child of God, and therefore do NOT inherit sickness.” Imagine if we believed those words as Myrtle believed them. Picture how our lives and the world be transformed! From Rev. Matt’s miraculous story of healing from cancer in his brain, your spirit will be renewed in the truth that you are a child of God, and therefore you do not inherit sickness or lack.

Generosity is the key to an abundant life and keeps us in the present moment. If you’re not looking for a way to be generous to the world every day, now is a good time to start! It will assure your knowledge of connection to the Divine. And compassion also keeps us in the “here and now,” because it requires us to walk beside another in a spirit of generosity and understanding. It reminds us that we are one human family. If these were the only two divine qualities we were focused upon, we would be on a delightful path!

Under the skin, we are all the same, no matter our culture, color, or religion. It is essential that we learn how truly listen to each other, and to practice non-judgmental, healing transactions. In this, we develop greater compassion as demonstrated to us by the master teachers. And we make our conversations about empathy more than commiseration. This is Christlike behavior.
